Tonight’s Theme Song

Istanbul, 2009

Staying up late, trying to get caught up on some work. Strange energy. Caffeine jitters. I can’t go on, I’ll go on. You know the drill.

Tonight’s soundtrack comes from Chicago circa 1953, where a jump bluesman named Danny Overbea is pounding caffeine: I pace the floor and stop and stare. I drink a cup of coffee and start pulling out my hair. I’m right there with you, Danny.
