Virtual Morning
Michael Surtees runs a top-shelf blog called Design Notes and he kindly invited me to be the ‘virtual guest’ for his presentation tomorrow at CreativeMornings, a weekly series of discussions sponsored by Swiss Miss. Held at various studios throughout New York City, Friday’s event will take place at Daylife, where Michael will discuss agile design, an iterative production process that originated with software development. Michael will examine how this approach applies to the creative side of things, asking “Is it possible for something to be only designed 51% of the way, give it life in the outside world, observe how people are reacting to the design, and iterate the hell out of it as time moves forward?” →
I’ll be drinking coffee in Helsinki and thinking up something bright to say. Now I should go practice my Skype skills. I’ve somehow managed to avoid web cameras until now and I must admit that the idea of my face floating around on a screen somewhere in New York unnerves me.
Anyway, it’ll be a good show and if you’re in the city, stay tuned for future CreativeMornings. You can watch past presentations from Armin Vit, Andy Bonventre, and others here. And wherever you are, you ought to follow CreativeMornings on Twitter, as well as Swiss Miss and Michael Surtees for a steady dose of thoughtfully curated goodness.

too bad — the event is booked. I would have loved to see you emerge unnerving from Helsinki on a big screen…
